How to define David and Stephen Dewaele? Indeed, the only connective tissue through their various guises as DJs, rockstars, remixers and general musical anarchists seems to be an endless search to demolish boundaries.

This restlessness has served them well. To date, they have four studio albums, one remix album, one film (2008’s sterling documentary “Part of the Weekend Never Dies”) numerous bootlegs and even more remixes for everyone from Daft Punk to Einsturzende Nebauten to their name(s). Quantitative analysis seems not to be a skill of theirs. And why should it be? Their preoccupation with the ever shifting dissemination and mass-capture semiotics of our day and age makes them necessarily flippant where particulars and demographics are concerned.

Their work makes good use of popular culture’s egalitarian talent for exploiting the constantly mutating lexicon of music while simultaneously making it seem completely natural and effortless. Like any worthwhile ingénues, the Dewaele brothers have a miraculous way of passing off pop-consciousness as accidental.

It is in this line of thought that we present to you 2ManyDJs in their latest incarnation – in a move which brings them pretty much full circle with their origins – as masters and commanders of their very own online radio station. If this sounds familiar to you, so it should: the brothers launched Radio Soulwax at the very start of their career, and it, in turned, spawned the 2 Many DJs bootlegs and album proper. Now however, with almost a decade’s worth of experience behind them, they are ready to take it all to the next level. Operating directly from their website www.2manydjs.com to be revamped and relaunched in May – Radio Soulwax brings together the Dewaele’s sprawling vision of musical anarchy into one freewheeling yet coalescent whole. Brand new mixes, special guests, themed hours and a unique visual element combine to create a radio show quite unlike any other.

Moreover, it will be free to air, with no ads or sponsors, and, most tantalizingly of all, will kick off with the some extra special dates through the UK with bespoke, live 2ManyDJs production for the very first time. Just another example of how the Dewaeles’ ready consumption of the entire spectrum of pop culture lends them the special ability to rumble, invert, and explode.
